Well I have been into cars and motorcycles my whole life. I thought I wanted a Corvette until a friend let me drive his 911 and I was hooked. I bought my first Porsche off of E bay an 1973 911T Targa which I still have, it has been to a number of Autocross's, DE's, and Porsche Parades. Every time I have attended a Porsche Parade I run into people that I met at my first Parade. I also have a 2010 Cayman S which I am currently driving at all the different events. I took second place with the Cayman Autocross at the Lake of the Ozarks Parade in 2018. I am looking forward to this years Parade in Boca Raton, FL. I have been the President of the Sonnenschein Region for a number of years and have enjoyed leading the region. We have established a great local Autocross program. I am also the PCA Zone 12 Treasure and pay the bills for OctoberFast at Daytona Speedway in October of each year. This is a PCA Club Race, DE, and Autocross. Porsche Club of America is built on Volunteers and I have volunteered at every Parade I have been to, which has allowed me to meet some great Porsche owners over the years. Porsche's are meant to be driven and I drive mine. Contact:

Vice President - Roger Swain

I am a long term fan of sports cars and motor sports. My love of Porsches began in the late 1950’s. Porsches were my stepfather’s cars of choice because “you don’t drive them, you wear them.” The were so versatile that we would load a 356’s trunk and luggage racks, hook up the boat, squeeze three of us into the car and head for Canada. I am still amused by memories of the expressions on the faces of the people we passed. After I turned fourteen, I was allowed to drive occasionally and the Porsche addiction really began. In 1966, when I was twenty years old, I convinced my wife Delores that we needed a green 1964 356C. We had great fun touring the US and driving in rallies and autocrosses. Then we moved to Germany where we bought more cars, toured Europe and I enjoyed driving our Porsches in higher speed events. Over the years Delores and I lived in many places, enjoyed lots of adventures and had a variety of fast and fun cars. Southern California is particularly well suited for Porsche driving. Carving the canyon roads and attending the car events in that area were great fun. In 2003 we moved back to Pensacola from California and shortly thereafter joined PCA. Delores and I thoroughly enjoyed the club activities and comradery until her failing health limited our participation. I currently own a 996 C4 and a 356C. Sonnenschein Region is making fine strides and I look forward to having a wonderful time with my cars and my fellow club members. Contact:

Newsletter Editor - Amy Boring

I was born and raised in East Tennessee, but then spent 20 years as a Navy wife, following my husband, Keith, around the globe. After his retirement from the Navy, we settled in Pensacola, Florida, and have been here since 2002. I am a contractor with Booz Allen Hamilton supporting the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) on board NAS Pensacola, providing IT project management for the Navy’s electronic training classrooms across the US and overseas. As evidenced by the photograph, I currently drive a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia TI, but I am also a Porsche-owner-by-proxy. After all, “what’s mine is mine, and what’s his is mine”! Contact:

Secretary & Former President - Pete Mellin

I'm a transplanted Yankee, having been born in Pennsylvania, spending 24 years in the Navy, and then retiring to Pensacola, FL. My first German car was dad’s hand-me-down 1963 VW bug, with about 29 horsepower. My first sports car was a 1966 Austin Healey 3000, black with red interior that was my college car. That car in black was way too hot for the South (Navy flight training), so I sold it to get an orange 1969 912 coupe. That was followed by a maroon 1971 911T for 9 years, then a chiffon 1981 911SC. In 1999 I joined the PCA and found a mint green 1992 911 coupe that we kept for 13 years. The allure of the new models proved too much, and so in December 2013 we bought a sapphire blue 2014 Carrera S. I begged the dealer for a quick delivery so we could take it to the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, and they delivered it on December 22nd. What a great Christmas present! It is the best Porsche so far, and amazing on the track. I’ve participated in about 10 DE’s and 20 auto crosses. My wife Patsy has joined me for six Porsche Parades, a Treffen at Ashville, and a Zonefest in Tallahassee. We like it all and look forward to the Porsche Parade in Boca Raton in 2019. Contact:

Contact: Track & Safety Steward - Bob Langham Robert “Bob” Langham is a retired Air Force Officer. Spent most of my Air Force time working aspects of Nuclear Safety and Training. My first time in a Porsche was 1956 was when a friend of mine took me for a ride in his sisters boyfriend’s 356 Cabriolet. I was sold as to the quality and handling. The first Porsche I bought was a factory pick-up of a 911 Turbo in May 1986. I drove to the Nurburgring and took a lap. I sold the car in 1988 due to market crash. The next Porsche was a 2008 Cayman S. Then in 2014 purchased the best yet a 2012 Cayman R. I have been auto crossing since 1968 and am currently an Instructor SCCA Solo Safety Steward for Wiregrass Region. Over the years I have done several track days and hope to get back to it again. Alabama Region Representative - Ben Powell Biography coming soon! Contact: Treasurer - Lindy Kirkpatrick In 2007 my husband and I bought ourselves a Boxster S for our 25th wedding anniversary present. We joined Sonnenschein and starting going to three events around the country; Boxstoberfest in the hill country of Texas, PCA Palooza in Eureka Springs, AR, and Blue Ridge Boxster Summit in Little Switzerland, NC. We had so much fun doing these runs and fun drives with the club that in 2010 we bought a BMW Z4 and started going to “Z” events as well. Many miles, many sets of tires, hours of fun, and three more Porsches (2013 Boxster S, 2015 Macan Turbo, 2018 Cayenne) have led me to be a staunch lover of the brand. My husband died two years ago leaving me with four vehicles, but I have paired it down to a Porsche Cayenne and a BMW Z4. I plan to attend my first parade in Boca Raton this summer. Contact: Dealer Representative - Joey Dumas I wanted a Porsche throughout my childhood but the passion was fueled when a dealership in NJ let me drive a 911 when I was stationed there for active duty in the United States Air Force. The dream stayed in my head for decades. When I went to law school, at 40 years old, I had a photograph of one as my computer wallpaper for motivation. I graduated law school in 2010 and began preparation for the bar exam. After I passed and made a little money, I purchased my first Porsche the end of 2013. It is a white 2014 Carrera 4S with the aerokit cup package and red leather interior. In 2014 I began auto crossing with the Sonnenschein Porsche Club and was invited to go with another member, Jason Darley, to NOLA Motorsports Park for a PCA sponsored Driver’s Education event. I was immediately hooked. Since then I moved up through the various levels to the advanced level and in 2018 I became a PCA and NASA (National Auto Sport Association) instructor at NOLA. Also in 2018, I began successfully competing with NASA in a Time Trials series and won the TT3 NASA NOLA championship, in addition to setting a lap record. During the 2018 season I began gaining sponsors that provide service and financial support. My law firm, Dumas Law Firm, LLC and Porsche Mobile are my primary sponsors, followed my Jordan Automotive, Foreign and Domestic Autocare, After 5 Exotics and SettleMyCase.com. Of course after I began competing I needed a tow vehicle to haul the race car, gear and tires. I purchased a black with red interior Cayenne Turbo S. It is one amazing vehicle and was perfect for my needs as a tow vehicle and daily driver. Given my relationship with Porsche Mobile, I was asked by our President to serve as the liaison between our Porsche Club region and Porsche Mobile.(NOTE: I’m not sure if Walley designated an exact title) Since then I’ve been able to arrange for Porsche Club members to receive parts discounts, enhanced relations between PCA, it’s members and Porsche Mobile, expanded dealer participation in PCA events and a host of other benefits for our membership AND Porsche Mobile. It’s a win-win for everyone. Frank Fernandes, Marc Heiter, David Menaker, and Tito McKinney of Porsche Mobile are strongly committed to our club, region and members, as well as all things Porsche, with the goal of helping us increase membership and providing financial support for our activities. Working with Porsche Mobile is pleasurable and easy. Contact:
