Well I have been into cars and motorcycles my whole life. A friend let me drive his 911 in 2008 and I was hooked. I bought my first car a 1973 911T in 2009 and have not let it sit very long with out driving it. I did my first DE at Hallett OK in the rain while I was moving back to the Gulf Coast. It was raining and I ended up in a tire wall but I pulled the fender out and was back out for the next session. I try to do three to four Driver Education events every year as well as many autocross events I can get in. I have been to Four Porsche Parades and one Escape. I now own two Porsches one is not enough, I bought a 1987 944 Turbo which is something else. I don't let my cars sit in the garage they get driven. Someone told me that Porsches are meant to be driven and I drive mine. Contact:

I am a long term fan of sports cars and motor sports.      My love of Porsches began in the late 1950’s.  Porsches were my stepfather’s cars of choice because “you don’t drive them, you wear them.”  The were so versatile that we would load a 356’s trunk and luggage racks, hook up the boat, squeeze three of us into the car and head for Canada.  I am still amused by memories of the expressions on the faces of the people we passed.  After I turned fourteen, I was allowed to drive occasionally and the Porsche addiction really began.      In 1966, when I was twenty years old, I convinced my wife Delores that we needed a green 1964 356C.  We had great fun touring the US and driving in rallies and autocrosses.  Then we moved to Germany where we bought more cars, toured Europe and I enjoyed driving our Porsches in higher speed events.      Over the years Delores and I lived in many places, enjoyed lots of adventures and had a variety of fast and fun cars.  Southern California is particularly well suited for Porsche driving.  Carving the canyon roads and attending the car events in that area were great fun.  In 2003 we moved back to Pensacola from California and shortly thereafter joined PCA.  Delores and I thoroughly enjoyed the club activities and comradery until her failing health limited our participation.  I currently own a 996 C4 and a 356C.  Sonnenschein Region is making fine strides and I look forward to having a wonderful time with my cars and my fellow club members. Treasurer, & former President -  Pete Mellin

I'm a transplanted Yankee, having been born in Pennsylvania, spending 24 years in the Navy, and then retiring to Pensacola, FL. My first German car was dad’s hand-me-down 1963 VW bug, with about 29 horsepower. My first sports car was a 1966 Austin Healey 3000, black with red interior that was my college car. That car in black was way too hot for the South (Navy flight training), so I sold it to get an orange 1969 912 coupe. That was followed by a maroon 1971 911T for 9 years, then a chiffon 1981 911SC. In 1999 I joined the PCA and found a mint green 1992 911 coupe that we kept for 13 years. The allure of the new models proved too much, and so we recently bought a sapphire blue 2014 Carrera S. What a great car! It is the best so far, and amazing on the track. I’ve participated in a handful of local DE’s and auto crosses, and my wife Patsy has joined me for five Porsche Parades. We like it all!. Contact:

Contact:  Track & Safety Steward -  Bob Langham      Robert “Bob” Langham is a retired Air Force Officer. Spent most of my Air Force time working aspects of Nuclear Safety and Training. My first time in a Porsche was 1956 was when a friend of mine took me for a ride in his sisters boyfriend’s 356 Cabriolet. I was sold as to the quality and handling. The first Porsche I bought was a factory pick-up of a 911 Turbo in May 1986. I drove to the Nurburgring and took a lap. I sold the car in 1988 due to market crash. The next Porsche was a 2008 Cayman S. Then in 2014 purchased the best yet a 2012 Cayman R. I have been auto crossing  since 1968 and am currently an Instructor SCCA Solo Safety Steward for Wiregrass Region. Over the years I have done several track days and hope to get back to it again. Contact:  Secretary -  Chris Sember        I'm a retired USAF pilot and currently a simulator instructor in the USAF Combat Systems Officer program at NAS Pensacola.  My hobbies include guitar, piano, photography, cars, and motorcycles.  My first car had the engine in the back (you know, where it's supposed to be), but it was a 1965 Corvair.  The engine blew within three months, which upset me, but probably not Ralph Nader.  From that humble beginning, I went on to own a 1982 Mazda RX-7, two 1968 Dodge Chargers, a 1963 Corvette, a 1990 Corvette, and an ERA 289 FIA (Cobra replica).  I've also had several motorcycles and currently ride a 2014 BMW S1000RR.    Annette and I married in 2003.  In 2009, we bought our first Porsches at Jackie Cooper Imports of Tulsa.  She still has her 2009 Boxster, but in 2013, I traded my 2009 Cayman for a 2006 911S Cabriolet.  Funny, Annette and I rarely ride together in one Porsche.  More often than not, we take both cars out.  I'm usually behind her, because she drives faster!  However, as much as we love driving our cars, we especially enjoy getting together with our fellow Sonnenschein members.
